Introduction to Bandsaw Boxes

  • NCW Woodshop 101 Railroad Avenue Suite 101A Cashmere, WA, 98815 United States (map)

Making bandsaw boxes is especially satisfying and slightly addictive. Using only the bandsaw and a few basic hand tools, our bandsaw box class successfully takes students from a raw piece of wood to a completed box in a short amount of time. For beginners, this is an excellent opportunity to gain some familiarity with woodworking while making a wonderful handmade box. For more seasoned woodworkers, it’s a chance to learn some new skills while exploring design possibilities on a small, manageable project.

Using a narrow blade, the bandsaw is set to cut the various box pieces, creating perfectly fitting, parts. The result is a tight, professional-looking box that makes a wonderful gift and looks great sitting on a sideboard or dresser.

The class is appropriate for everyone. Each student will complete a bandsaw box. No tools are required for the class just an interest in boxes. Boxes will be finished with oil and flocked.
