NCW Woodshop
Where Craftsmanship Meets Community
At NCW Woodshop, woodworking is more than a craft—it’s a passion. Founded by Jon Clark in 2023, our workshop evolved from his personal hobby into a vibrant community space. Initially inspired by woodworking classes and family projects, Jon created NCW Woodshop in the Wenatchee Valley to foster creativity, community and to empower our members.
What began as a makerspace has grown into a thriving hub, where we’ve taught and mentored over 100 budding woodworkers, and partnered with local organizations like Cascadia and Sustainable NCW. Our dedicated team offers a variety of classes, from beginner projects to advanced techniques, along with open shop time and membership options for 24/7 access.
Jon Clark - Head Sawdust Maker
I grew up all over the west. Born in Clarkston, Washington, grew up in Lewiston, Idaho, was raised in Evanston, Wyoming, and graduated high school in Oak Harbor, Washington. I took woodshop in middle school and used to love watching the Woodwright on PBS. I started working at Boeing as a draftsman. After many years of doing engineering design I transferred my talents into support, administration, instruction and application development for a CAD program called CATIA. This has allowed me to work from home for the past 11 years.
My day job, at Safran Seats USA, keeps me busy from 5am-2pm but I like to think my day begins at 2 where I can be found; helping my wife remodel our home, at NCW Woodshop, or spending time with my wife.
I enjoy backpacking and baseball and helping out as much as I can.

Beryl Bils - Instructor
Originally from Minnesota, Beryl Bils moved to Denton, Texas, for college, where she discovered her passion for the outdoors through her work with UNT's outdoor pursuits program. After earning a degree in music, she embarked on a cross-country road trip in her converted van. During her travels, Beryl completed a building apprenticeship in Asheville, NC, which fueled her excitement for building and woodworking. Eventually, she settled in Leavenworth. Beryl is eager to share her love for building and craftsmanship with the community. In her spare time, she enjoys working out, playing roller derby, and pursuing outdoor activities like snowboarding and mountain biking.
