Ready to discover the fun of woodturning? Whether you're brand new to the lathe or looking to build on your existing skills, this four-day class will introduce you to the fundamentals of safe and successful woodturning.

Working with an instructor in a one on one class, you'll learn proper lathe safety, get comfortable with carbide turning tools, and develop the skills needed to turn both spindles and bowls.

Over four days, you'll progress from understanding the lathe and its safe operation to shaping wood and creating your own projects. With three hours of hands-on instruction each day, you'll build confidence, practice new techniques, and develop skills you can continue using long after class ends.

By the end of the class, you'll have a solid foundation in woodturning, experience using carbide tools, and your own turned projects to take home. Fair warning: you might just discover your next woodworking obsession!

What You'll Learn:

Lathe safety, setup, and proper operating procedures

Introduction to carbide turning tools and their safe use

Basic spindle-turning techniques

Shaping, cutting, and refining wood on the lathe

Bowl-turning fundamentals and techniques

Sanding and finishing your turned projects

Duration:

Four days, three hours per day (12 hours total). Class dates and times will be coordinated with the instructor.

Class Size:

Limited to two students for personalized instruction and plenty of time at the lathe.

Skill Level:

Beginner to Intermediate. No previous woodturning experience is required.
